Perpustakaan Abu Yusuf Yaqub Al-Khindi
The Law Library of the Attorney General's Chambers of Malaysia was first established in 1948 and is one of the oldest and most significant law libraries in Malaysia. Renamed Perpustakaan Abu Yusuf Yaqub Al-Khindi, it is responsible for giving legal information, reference services and updating legislations and legal indexes, as well as specialize in providing law-related materials in order to serve the legal information needs to the legal officers as well as other government agencies.
The main role of Perpustakaan Abu Yusuf Yaqub Al-Khindi is to provide legal information reference services to AGC Legal Officers nationwide. Perpustakaan Abu Yusuf Yaqub Al-Khindi possesses approximately 100k legal collection materials in various forms. Reference and Information Services are provided to assist library users in searching and retrieving legal materials and the needed information fast and effectively.
The library also provides collection development, preservation and digitization of legal collections. Perpustakaan Abu Yusuf Yaqub Al-Khindi has undertaken a digitization program to preserve rare documents and books within the library's collection.
The digitization project of rare collections includes original documents from 19th Century publications, historical documents relating to the nation's independence as well as collections of domestic legislations published in pre-independent Malaya.
AL-KHINDI DEPOSITORY is the digital repository system that stores, preserves and distributes digital materials of Perpustakaan Abu Yusuf Yaqub Al-Khindi digital collection which contain of Primary Sources of legislations such as Ordinances, Acts State Enactments and legislations as well as reference sources.
